Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement (UTM) of ship’s hull construction

Performing UTM and Close-Up inspections of ships hull structures in compliance with Classification Societies’ standards for CLASS, CAP and ESP surveys.
Generating detailed UTM REPORTS using advanced software, complete with standard sketches.
Providing PHOTO REPORTS of key compartments and identified areas of concern, if needed.

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods:

  • Visual testing (VT)
  • Penetrant testing (PT)
  • Magnetic testing (MT)
  • Eddy current testing (ET)
  • Ultrasonic testing (UT)

Access solutions using rope access techniques (Rope Access)

Nowadays Rope Access methods are essential in the marine industry. These techniques enable efficient execution of projects in dry docks or onboard the vessels where standard survey or service procedures are impeded by accessibility issues.
NDTest employs IRATA-certified rope access experts to assess site conditions and devise optimal access solutions. We are certified for conducting RIT (Remote Inspection Technique) in hard-to-reach areas. Using of Rope Access technics we can provide installation works and repair works in emergency cases in hard to reach areas when the time is very limited.

Paint works

Our Paint Works services include:

  • Comprehensive assessment of the coating condition on structures
  • Creation of photo reports highlighting main and affected structures and suspect areas
  • Estimation of repairable surface areas
  • Surface preparation and paint application
  • Supervision of paint works by FROSIO-certified professionals
  • Use of Rope Access technology when necessary

Project supervision

Effective ship survey planning is critical in the marine industry, requiring thorough and organized preparation. Key elements of successful planning are TIME and INFORMATION. Our experienced specialists offer project supervision based on inspection outcomes and survey analyses. Providing timely information necessary for survey preparation, we help optimize project planning, saving time and costs for ship owners. Naval architects, marine engineers, and paint inspectors perform ship survey analysis based on required technical services such as UTM, NDT, Visual Control, and Close-Up inspections, with ongoing supervision throughout the project:

  • Evaluating the condition of main compartments, piping, and outfitting
  • Offering repair recommendations with detailed sketches, diagrams, weight tables, and specifications
  • Preliminary planning and staging installation calculations based on repair plans
  • Overseeing steel and paint works, ensuring quality control, managing schedules, estimating work completion, and other planning activities
  • IRATA level 3-certified rope access supervisors ensure safe and efficient access for services like Paint Works, UTM, and NDT. Preliminary preparation and structural analysis streamline the project workflow.

NDTest offers the assistance of our experts during project implementation

  • Proficient steelwork oversight during dry docking
  • Efficient project management for new construction or conversion projects
  • QA&QC management, project process control, and thorough documentation
    management

Additionally, we’re available to provide Mechanical and Electrical services such as:

  • auxiliary engine/ equipment overhaul
  • main engine overhaul assistance
  • Inspections of marine and industrial electrical equipment at all stages of manufacturing and testing (synchronous and induction motors, generators, alternators, electrical switchboards, propulsion pods).
  • Detailed reports support decision-making for ship owners and operators.
  • Assessing the condition of explosion-proof equipment in hazardous areas such as ships, factories, and oil terminals
